- When your child starts at Tara house they are each assigned a key person.Initially this is to provide your child with the support they need to settle and to provide you with a member of staff to liase with. This involves spending a lot of care, time and attention on the child, as much or as little as they require in order to settle.
- Their role is also to keep your child’s individual development records up to date and to write their report at the end of the year.
- However, as a Montessori nursery, we believe in the spontaneity of the child and the tracking of the needs of the individual. The children are therefore not seated in permanent groups on a daily basis as they are allowed to be free to choose their activities within the classroom. This means that your child will effectively be being taught by most of the staff in the classroom, determined by the activities that they choose throughout the morning. Every member of staff who teaches your child will then fill in and add to their developmental records. The child will know who their key person is, but this should not affect their choices within the school environment.
